Auditor General attends the 14th ASOSAI Assembly and 7th ASOSAI Symposium

Auditor General of the Maldives, Mr. Hassan Ziyath attends the 14th ASOSAI Assembly and 7th ASOSAI Symposium, held at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, Vietnam. The theme for this year is “Environmental Audit for Sustainable Development”, with the objective of strengthening the commitment of the ASOSAI community in pursuing the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN.

Held once in every three years, this year’s assembly is hosted by the State Audit Office of Vietnam (SAV) from 19th to 22nd September 2018. The ASOSAI Assembly is organized with the purpose of creating a common platform for the heads of ASOSAI members, to discuss and formulate policies in order to achieve the objectives of the ASOSAI organization. This year, 60 international delegations are attending the assembly, including ASOSAI members, representatives and agencies of INTOSAI and observers of other international organizations.

During this official trip, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Auditor General’s Office of the Maldives (AGO) and State Audit Bureau of Kuwait on 18th September 2018. The MoU aims to strengthen the collaboration on capacity building and exchange of technical assistance between the two SAIs. The MoU was signed by Auditor General, Mr. Hassan Ziyath and the Acting President of the State Audit Bureau of Kuwait, Mr. Adel Abdulaziz Al-Sarawi.

The Auditor General is accompanied by Assistant Auditor General, Mr. Hussain Niyazy, Assistant Auditor General, Mr. Ibrahim Aiman and Director of Technical Services Department, Mr. Adam Naseer. It is hoped to strengthen the friendship and collaboration with fellow SAI members of the ASOSAI community by participating in the assembly.
