AGO holds AuditNaama 2019

For the purpose of presenting the work of AGO to the public and improving collaboration between AGO and stakeholders Auditor General’s Office held a special function named “AuditNaama 2019”. The event held at National Art Gallery on 28th March 2019, is the beginning of an annual series to create awareness on the importance of the work of audit and to keep stakeholders well informed.

The event celebrated the 70th anniversary of AGO by releasing a historical book by the name “AuditNaama” reflecting on the beginning and progress of the process of public auditing. The book was launched by chief guest of the ceremony, Minister of Finance Mr. Ibrahim Ameer. Addressing the gathering, Minister highlighted the importance of auditing in making government institutions accountable and assured full support from the Ministry of Finance on the audit recommendations provided in Audit Reports.

Speaking at the ceremony, Auditor General Mr. Hassan Ziyath stated that more than 200 Audit Reports were issued in the year 2018 and the backlog of previous years has been cleared. Mr. Ziyath also expressed gratitude to all the people involved in developing AGO to where it stands today.

During the ceremony, the Annual Report 2018, corporate video of AGO and Financial Analysis of SOEs were also launched. Government delegates and AGO staff attended the ceremony.
