Auditor General

The Auditor General is a constitutional post created pursuant to the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives (2008) and the Audit Act 04/2007. The powers and responsibilities of the Auditor General are laid down under Article 212 of the Constitution (2008), sections (3) and (5) of the Audit Act.

Under the constitution the Auditor General shall be appointed for a fixed term of seven years, renewable for an additional term of not more than five years
